Nature

Get inspired by nature, water, and the beauty of simplicity, fruit; my advantages of skill created this image. Firstly, I intended to locate the small words (frozen, fresh, water…) in the middle of the image, with lager size. But I realized that, this will become a mess if I’m not good at reconstructuring, and actually, I’m bad at it. This results to main word in the middle and some small word at the corner. I also play a little with the words nature and strawberry by positioning the same “e”.

The main theme is nature, water (not actually), so I want to use some hot and bright color. The white space is damn cool and it’s the reason I don’t want to place so many words in the middle.

About some skills used to create this image, firstly, I created a Color Balance and Curve Layer after editing all the images to create the general look of my final image. I just use two images, one for the strawberry, and one for the background of my words.

Angel falling down

Heaven is what in my mind when I created this image but maybe this is not so good for heaven. I just want to make the angel flying n the sky, so I used motion blur and gaussian blur, looking just as he’s waving, the effect makes the image more satisfied to look at.

Inside Religion: to be or not to be ???

This is new idea for this week, religion .This can be about everything in your mind, but when you look at my image, I hope you see what I want you to see.

I won't discuss which the image includes, you may get it yourself with interdependency.

The final result is not what I meant firstly. The color is not unified, can't create the atmosphere that I intended. So I decided to use Duotone to mix up the final result. I find that Duotone is very great tool to create the atmosphere of the image, no matter how you edit it before with tons of tools.

That's my opinion, what about you?

thin red line (TM)

This is the last post for this week, just a simple one, but the idea about the line is interesting. I use Curve and Level tool to make the background black.(Honestly, the background , which is the wall when I captured the image, is dirty so I cleaned it .I intended to do with some environment , but I don't find one). Again using some old tricks like filter tools to emphasis the line, and then change the color of the line.
What a weird one.

Who are you?

The idea comes from many aspects and angles of human. I create each square with different styles, colors to represent different characteristics. It's hard to explain exactly what they are. But you may look at them and find which one is most suitable for you.

I think this image may have different version by using duotone tools to change the background theme color. The first image is the original. You can try changing the background color if you want.

This website is created by a designer and I find it a very good destination for us to learn some idea from this site. The main content is game , flash game. In these flash games, you may find two things: original idea and beautifully visual image.

Original idea is about the core gamble, which makes players excited and enjoyed whenever they play a new game here, new experience in every new game.

And supporting creative mind of this designer is ability to create great visual movement in games. I can't believe a flash game may be so beautiful like these in this site. I wonder this designer drawing by hand, by flash, or by editing images in Photoshop. I guess both of them. There are still many funny game that you can find here.

Desktop create: awards

This is the website that I found while researching for my presentation. It's Desktop magazine , an Australian Design: Digital Culture.It's the host of graphic design opening every year. The contest is devided by categories such as illustration, typography, photography, animation, web... I want to show you the result of 2005 competition.
This is the design that I love most, it is also the design of the year. The target of this website, as well as the product of the company, is 15-24 year-old market, so you can see the style is active and colorful, attractive to teenagers.

I just recignize that flower is beatiful.

I love this image, it’s not abstraction, it’s reality. For those who don’t know the purpose of this design, it’s a design for a magazine but not a cover page. The subject is about the flowers.

I took picture of flower at my home but it is not as nice as you see. I sue gradient tool for the upper part of the image, simulating the shining of the sun to the flower. I also use blur tool for part that I put text in. White color for text is great in a colorful background like this image. However, I feel that it’s not easy to read because traditionally, magazines don’t use this kind of background for their content. What about your opinion?

Just do it

Firstly, I took a picture of a kid playing football in a narrow path, just like small street. I want to create an image of children playing street football in poor town. As a result, I make a narrow composition in my image; leave the white space for some text. The image has some dark and light edges to focus important element like player, movement, the ball, so it is easier to see.

A present for RMIT

Trust me, I don’t intend in create a poster for RMIT, just recognizing the ladder symbol is suitable for this situation. The ladder is a little abstract because I feel ugly to put a real ladder here. And the effect is better than I imagine. About “Information Day”, I use align right but I think it’s okay because this is still a neat design. Uhmm, this image is simple so I don’t know what to tell you. I just like the idea and it makes this poster meaningful.

The structure, layout of design

This time I try the design layout , some rules that we have learnt in class. This image has no purpose of abstraction .
I took this picture for my own. I focus the balance of image. It's very interesting situation that my cat is lying under the stone chair. You can see the two edges of the chair help the viewers focusing the cat in the middle, reminding me some feeling. But I won't discuss the content of this image, just experience yourself.
I also change the color of the image. I use the tool Duotone learning form Maddy's blog (maybe this is the same situation like Maddy's picture).The result is the blue background. Does it affect your emotion?
Finally, I add some text ( because I feel there's something missing). I also put the text near the cat, vertically so that it's easier to read, and when you stop at question mark, it's the sad cat you see. But damn it, I know my feeling accurately, but I can't find better caption to describe it , to touch viewers' emotion. Can you help me find another text with better meaning ?

I'm so sorry I have gone for along time. The quality of my blog is going down and it's becoming a graveyard.

I call it emotion of color and I navigate it through the color structure , not through the characteristics of colors . So it's easy to find the emotion of colors. Having fun.
